Gateworks takes pride in providing customers with first class technical support. To further support our customers, Gateworks has a technical Blog. This blog keeps customers updated with changes to product families, new hardware, new software, tips, tricks, tutorials, and important bug fixes. There is an email subscription available so customers can be notified when a new blog post is published. This blog provides enhanced support to customers. Mailing Lists

Gateworks has setup a mailing list for users to post general software and hardware questions. Gateworks actively participates in the mailing list and will post to the list to notify developers when images or patches have been updated. An archive of the list also exist to search on any subject. If you have issues first check the archives. Lists have been created for both the Avila and Laguna families of network processor boards.

Whitepapers

Gateworks has initiated an ongoing White Paper program to provide designers step-by-step examples of a wide range of design examples wherein the design issues are detailed and a comprehensive solution of each issue is shown leading to a design completion. In each case, a Gateworks product or products is used in the solution. Papers range from wireless video encoding/decoding applications, wireless M2M (Machine to Machine), wireless point to point communication, WiFi Hotspots, wireless Tablets & Smart Phones applications, wireless First Responder applications and wireless video, audio and data Military Systems applications.

Gateworks Software and Software Wiki

Gateworks hosts a Software Wiki and SVN Browser site at http://trac.gateworks.com which contains product and support information. The site contains in-depth information and many how-to’s for configuring Gateworks single board computers for specific applications. The information is broken down by product family. Full source code, pre-built binaries along with OpenWRT build instructions are also provided.

We welcome and encourage you to edit the wiki freely upon registration for a user account. This wiki has been opened up to those that would like to contribute there knowledge about the Gateworks Avila/Cambria/Rincon/Laguna/Ventana Families.

Gateworks supports all of its network processor boards with a Linux Board Support Package (BSP) that has been customized to support the different board features. This software is based upon the popular OpenWrt Linux distribution for wireless embedded devices. OpenWrt provides a fully writable file system with package management which allows the developer to customize the device through the use of packages. More information on OpenWrt can be found at http://www.openwrt.org.

The latest BSP release, including all source code, is available for download on our Wiki/SVN browser at http://trac.gateworks.com. This site also contains build instructions and many how-to articles for using and configuring specific board features. The Gateworks BSP is designed to be a starting point for development.

Product Change Notification

Gateworks provides a Product Change Notification (PCN) feed to communicate any changes in hardware to it's customers. 

Agency Certifications

Gateworks network processor boards are used in a wide variety of unique applications, each with different certification requirements. FCC and CE certifications are performed on the “complete systems” which include power supply, enclosure, antenna cables, network processor board and software thus these types of certification must be performed by the customer. Gateworks can assist with the certification process and has worked with many customers in obtaining FCC, UL and CE certifications. Contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Repairs and Warranty

Should you have difficulties with any Gateworks products, please fill out the RMA Form and either fax or email us for a RMA number. Write the RMA number on the outside of the shipping container. Shipping to Gateworks is customer’s responsibility. RMA turn-around time is typically 4 weeks. Gateworks will ship returns by ground service unless otherwise requested.
