The GW5100 is a member of the Gateworks 5th generation Ventana family of rugged and industrial single board computers (SBCs) targeted for a small form factor, low power embedded application such as Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) equipment, digital signage, IoT Gateways, Man Portable Units (MPUs) and robotics.

The GW5100 features the NXP™ i.MX6 Dual Core ARM® Cortex™ -A9 SoC processor operating at 800MHz, 512Mbytes of DDR3-1066 DRAM, and 256Mbytes of System Flash.  A Mini-PCIe expansion socket supports 802.11ac/b/g/n WiFi radios, 4G WiMAX radios, 3G CDMA/GSM cellular modems and other PCI Express peripherals.  Other radio options include a GW16122 Sub-1GHz radio, GW16126 LTE CATM1 Cellular card, GW16130 Iridium Satellite Modem or LoRA radio. A Gigabit Ethernet port allows for wired high-speed connectivity. The HDMI and analog video make the GW5100 ideal for wireless video applications. The Gateworks System Controller provides embedded features such as real time clock, voltage and temperature monitor, serial EEPROM, programmable front panel switch, tamper switch and advanced power management with programmable board shut-down and wake-up for remote sensor applications. A wide-range DC input power supply provides up to 8W of power to the Mini-PCIe sockets for supporting the latest high-power radios.  Power is applied through a dedicated connector or the Ethernet jack in a passive Power over Ethernet architecture. OpenWrt, Android, and OpenEmbedded Linux board support packages are included. The extremely small size of 35 x 100mm allows this rugged and industrial single board computer to be used in a wide array of applications, including Internet of Things (IoT) Gateways, military and outdoor communications.
