Silex Technology and Gateworks Corporation Introduce the First Wi-Fi 6 NXP-based Development Kit Designed for Deployment in Extreme Environments at Embedded World 2024
Silex Technology, a global leader in wireless networking solutions, and Gateworks Corporation, a provider of industrial-embedded computing solutions are proud to announce their collaboration on a development kit aimed at advancing Wi-Fi 6 technology in industrial environments. The Wi-Fi 6 Development Kit, a collaborative effort between Silex Technology and Gateworks Corporation, is engineered to facilitate the validation of the Silex SX-SDMAX based on the NXP® Semiconductors IW611 radio. SX-SDMAX is a 2.4 GHz/5 GHz dual-band Wi-Fi 6 plus Bluetooth® 5.3 BR/EDR/LE radio which allows customers to add low latency, high throughput and low power wireless connectivity using the latest 802.11ax standard. The kit features a Gateworks Venice GW7200 Industrial Single Board Computer (SBC), pre-loaded with an Ubuntu Linux BSP with validated Silex drivers for seamless out-of-the-box evaluation.
At the heart of the GW7200 SBC lies the NXP i.MX 8M Mini 64-bit ARM® 1.6GHz Quad Core applications processor. This powerful combination provides developers with the resources to explore and optimize Wi-Fi 6 functionalities in an industrial setting. The SBC includes up to 64GB of eMMC System Flash, up to 4GB of LPDDR4 DRAM, two full GbE Ethernet ports, and two Mini-PCIe expansion sockets to integrate additional wireless technologies such as 802.11AH HaLow or 5G Cellular.
From remote real-time monitoring to predictive maintenance, asset management, and enhanced logistics, this Wi-Fi 6 Development Kit represents a significant leap forward in Wi-Fi 6 technology tailored for industrial applications and offers unparalleled performance and reliability.
